There is no such thing as the best podcast but I will give you some personal recommendations of pod casts to listen to in 2023 if you already are or if you want to become a profficient English listener. Here we go!

Luke’s English Podcast

Luke Thompson, the host of this wonderful podcast has build a whole community whithin his “Luke’s English Podcast” universe. A listener is not just a listener but is called a LEPster. It feels a bit like being part of a huge family. Speaking of family, his parants and his brother James are all regularly returning guests of the show.

Everyone is connected thanks to Luke who covers a wide range of different topics including current events, pop culture, politics. The list goes on. It goes without saying that he also covers English learning content and implements explanations in his speech or interviews.

His British English, smooth voice is great to listen to. Not only is he a great teacher but also is he very funny (he is a stand-up comedian).

The podcast features over 800 episodes with transcripts. LEP also comes with a YouTube channel with over 407,000 subscribers. One of his most most popular video podcasts is the video “The Mountain (Short Story for learners of English).
